(C) Rhianna Nodens

I stand in the North with obsidian knife;
The full moon, she watches me take my own life.
An invasion is coming, the people afraid,
And for their protection, this scene is now played.

Chorus
Avebury, Avebury, place of rebirth;
Where I reconnect with a life here on Earth.
Way back in time, as a priestess I stand,
Giving my life for the good of the land.

As my past life recedes from my vision, I feel
A large man behind me, protection of steel.
He guided my soul through the veil to its rest;
As protector and guardian, he’s one of the best.

Chorus
Avebury, Avebury, place of rebirth;
Where I reconnect with a life here on Earth.
Way back in time, as a priestess I stand,
Giving my life for the good of the land.

Down in the valley, my mind again drifts.
The goddess comes to me to heal the rift.
‘Your gift is redeemed, I’m your friend ever more,’
Whispers bright Freya, on the Sanctuary’s  floor.

Chorus
Avebury, Avebury, place of rebirth;
Where I reconnect with a life here on Earth.
Way back in time, as a priestess I stand,
I’ve given my life for the good of the land.

Many moons later, I lie in my bed,
And visions of Avebury swirl in my head.
As a spirit I stand by the avenue’s end,
Protecting my people, my village, my friends.

Chorus
Avebury, Avebury, place of rebirth;
Where I reconnect with a life here on Earth.
Way back in time, as a priestess I stand,
Where I gave my life for the good of the land.

I know now my sacrifice wasn’t in vain,
Though large numbers of people died there in pain.
The village was saved, the invasion repelled,
Through belief in the magic the people all held.

Chorus
Avebury, Avebury, place of rebirth;
Where I reconnect with a life here on Earth.
Way back in time, as a priestess I stand,
Giving my life for the folks of the land.
